As an affiliate of one of the nation’s largest family held real estate firms, we manage your properties from an owner’s perspective.

It started all the way back in 1955 when Alter built new communities in Chicago that put returning servicemen and women into their first homes. Later, this turned into developing the industrial and flex product that was the boiler room for America’s vibrant post-War boom. In the 80s and 90s, we became a national office developer for multinational and entrepreneurial firms, as we opened offices in the South and West coasts. In the new millennium, we’ve built tech hubs and co-working flagships for the world’s premier technology firms, including Google and WeWork.Throughout, we've navigated through every ebb and flow of our economy, from the oil shocks of the 1970s to the recession of the 1990s to today’s cycle which has given us zero inflation, the lowest oil prices in 13 years and the strongest dollar in a decade. Over the course of a half century, we’ve maintained our steady hand, our strong balance sheet and a portfolio which maintains well better than market occupancy rate. Learn More.
